New Girl Walking Into Safe House.jpg

SAFE HOUSE FOR GIRLS

Unfortunately, Honduras is a hot spot for sex trafficking women and children. Most of them are trafficked to Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, Middle Eastern countries and the United States for sexual exploitation. However, because of the drug cartels in Honduras, Honduras can be the murder capital of the world. Dangerous men will even come into jungle or mountain villages and take young girls to be their property.

All of these reasons are why we need a safe house for women and children. The Shalom home is our effort in minimizing some of the girl’s struggles and keeping them safe. The monthly costs for educating and training them to become responsible adults is $150/month, but these costs do go up as they grow older and advance in their university training.

Please pray for how you can be involved in keeping these at-risk girls safe. The Ahmen group from Alabama has been our ordinary source of funding for these girls in the last several years. Any dollar amount is another step towards helping one more victim of abuse and possible victim of sex trafficking.  In this way, we are showing our true religion by “helping the widow and the fatherless in their affliction.” (James 1:27)
